PAISBOA (the Philadelphia Area Independent School Business Officers Association) is a regional association of Independent School Business Officers committed to achieving leveraged strength through group purchasing, professional development and best practices for the Business Office. Comprised primarily of a volunteer team of Business Officers working for the common good of all members, PAISBOA’s mission is to stimulate and sustain a passion for providing services and opportunities to empower Business Officers to excel.  Our purpose is to create savings in both time and money while providing useful resources and expanded knowledge to our members.

Annual PAISBOA HR Day 
Scheduled for December 7

PAISBOA's annual HR Day will take place on Friday, December 7. The workshop sessions will begin immediately after the conclusion of the PAISBOA HBT General Membership Meeting, which begins at 9 a.m. Susan Guerette of Fisher & Phillips and her colleagues will follow with a series of workshop topics, including:

  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Issues – particularly looking at issues relating to mental health and alcohol
  • Hiring Practices – clearances and proper procedures to follow
  • Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting – how does it work, when should a report be made, what happens if the person under investigation is on your campus such as an employee or parent, what should your policy say
  • Compensation issues - pay equity act; implications of working remotely
  • Social Media – what can you restrict; what can teachers post; what should policies provide
